Thanks for posting this! While I’m comfortable with tree-thinking there were still some key concepts I was iffy on and had trouble truly understanding, like how a branch may imply a taxon hasn’t been evolving at all (like the fish in one of your examples). I had figured it out myself but hearing it straight-up from someone ensured me I had the right idea.
