But speaking somewhat selfishly, as a fellow basic biologist to another, you do realize that this means that the medical scientists now have yet another tool to steal funding from us? BTW, the NIH actually funds basic science in addition to medical research in the US (Not that the decision affects those in the land of Tim Hortons)
